About AIS
The story of why AIS exists and who built it.
Africa has produced some of the most extraordinary human beings in history. Scientists, entrepreneurs, peacemakers, artists, engineers, athletes, and community builders who have changed lives — often without ever being acknowledged beyond their immediate community. AIS was built to change that. Permanently.
The Origin Story
Africa Impact Series was founded by Prince Mackay — one of Africa’s most accomplished event architects and institution builders. Over a career spanning award ceremonies, media platforms, and governance recognition programmes, Prince encountered the same reality again and again: extraordinary Africans were building extraordinary things, and no institution existed at scale to document and celebrate their legacy.
The Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Awards, the Africa Gospel Awards Festival (AGAFEST), and the Ghana Ministers of State Excellence Honours — each of these platforms Prince built was a step toward AIS. Africa Impact Series is the culmination of that lifetime of work: the umbrella institution that ties African excellence together under one roof, across every sector, and across all 54 nations.
What makes AIS Different?
AIS is not an awards show. Awards happen once a year and are forgotten. AIS is a permanent institutional archive — a living, growing database of African achievement that becomes more valuable with every profile added, every year that passes, and every generation that comes after us.
There is no Forbes Africa at full scale. There is no Oscars of Africa. There is no pan-African database of excellence. AIS fills that gap — not as a niche platform, but as the pan-continental institution that owns the narrative of African greatness.
Our Vision
To be the definitive institution of African excellence — the platform the continent turns to in order to discover, celebrate, and learn from its greatest contributors across every generation.
Our Mission
To document, amplify, and honour the impact of Africa’s most remarkable individuals and organisations — and to build, from those stories, a self-sustaining institution of lasting generational value.
Our Core Values
- Authenticity — We tell real stories of real impact, verified and documented
- Excellence — We hold ourselves and our subjects to the highest standard
- Pan-African Identity — We celebrate all of Africa: every region, language, and faith
- Legacy — Every decision is made with the next generation in mind
- Integrity — We are independent, credible, and cannot be bought
A Quote from our Founder
“I have spent my career building platforms that celebrate African achievement. Every time, I saw the same gap: extraordinary people doing extraordinary things, with no institution dedicated to preserving and amplifying their stories for generations to come. AIS is that institution. It is the one I have always been building towards.”
